On September 24, 2005, Liene and Kristaps gave a concert at the Embassy of Latvia in Stockholm, Sweden. The two musicians surprised the audience with their modern chamber music, which impressed with excellent musical rapport, virtuosity and finesse.
The programme included Liene’s work BILDES [PICTURES], which was performed for the first time, and Kristaps ‘ CEOJUMU SVTA [TRAVEL SUITE], which was performed in full length.
This week, the two musicians are performing in Germany together with cellist Ieva Purina. In the late fall, they will return to Sweden to perform together with poet Juris Kronbergs.

Parallels
Dec.04, 2004
On this CD, the subdued sound of chamber music is coupled with the rhythm and beat of rock. This is particularly evident in K. Grasis’ three-part piece, “Trois rêves d’un clown,” which took second place at the 16th International Composers’ Competition in Siegburg in 2004, and in Juris Sejans work “Parallels,” which was written over 25 years ago, but in the interpretation of this ensemble has acquired a new and modern sound. The title of this piece was also chosen as the title for the CD because it so well expresses what this music is about – the parallels of classical and contemporary music.
Music must capture the interest of the listener, make the listener want to hear this music again – and more of the same. Liene Sejane and Kristaps Grasis hope they have accomplished this with “Parallels.”
